Furnace Duct Cleaning To Remove Dirt, Dust and Obstructions
If your furnace doesn’t work right and your air conditioner doesn’t either, your system may just need cleaning. Overtime, dust and dirt accumulates on critical components that reduce your system’s ability to heat or cool your home. Most times when a heating and cooling system doesn’t work the way it used to work it is due to restricted air flow. Often times, a thorough cleaning will improve your system’s efficiency and help you avoid costly replacement. Below is an explanation of how a heating and cooling system is affected by dirt, dust and other obstructions. NOTE: please do not attempt to clean these components yourself. It requires special skills and equipment to be able to effectively clear the air flow restrictions out of a system.
- The blower inside a furnace is constantly moving hot or cold air through the furnace and into the air ducts. As it operates, dust and dirt particles accumulate on the fins of the blower, its housing, and the motor that powers the unit. As dust accumulates, the blower’s ability to move air is greatly reduced. Removing the blower from the furnace and then thoroughly cleaning it using the Monster Vac’s proprietary process is the only proven method to return the blower to its proper functioning capacity.

2. Next is the heat exchanger and the secondary heat exchanger. If your blower is dirty then the heat exchanger is dirty. When the heat exchanger is dirty is will restrict air flow and limit the ability of the heat exchanger to transfer heat. This greatly reduces the temperature and volume of the air that travels through the air ducts and out into a home’s living space. The only way to properly clean the heat exchanger and secondary heat exchanger is to remove the blower and use the Monster Vac proprietary process to clean them.
3. If your home has air conditioning, there will be cooling coil known as the evaporator coil that is in an enclosed box that that sits on top of your furnace cabinet. In the cooling and in the heating season, 100% of the air that gets into your home must travel through this cooling coil. These cooling coils get caked with matted dust, pet hair, construction debris and other forms of contamination that will severely restrict the airflow through the coil. So, even if the blower is working full strength and the heat exchanger is clean, these dirty and restricted cooling coils will limit the air flow and make it all but impossible to properly heat or cool your home. Dirty cooling coils are the number one source of restricted air flow in a heating and air conditioning system. Dirty Cooling coils are the number one reason that people claim their heating and cooling system just doesn’t perform the way it used to. In addition to performance issues, A dirty cooling coil is likely the most contaminated and unhealthy part of your entire home. In order to properly clean and restore the air flow in a coil it is a proven fact that only a wet cleaning process is effective. Monster Vac’s proprietary process enables us to wet clean the coils and to restore the air flow to the coil and make them sanitary again.
4. The air ducts in your home should be free and clear of any obstructions that limit airflow. Obstructions in the air ducts often occur during a home’s construction, when wood scraps, trash and other items find their way into the uncovered vent registers. Over time dirt, dust, and pet hair will adhere to the construction debris and can become so dirty that it will restrict air flow. This is commonly the reason that some rooms have air flow and other don’t. Monster Vac’s proprietary process will restore the air flow to your air ducts and make the air flow more even throughout the home.
